Powder Room {Before & After}

I have finally procured a piece of art for the one big wall in the powder room and am beyond thrilled to cross another room off the impressively extensive list we started with three years ago.  (Though, serial decorators never really cross anything off the list for too long.)

Here's the before.  Unlike in the still untouched master bathroom, we were fortunate to start with a nice sink and decent floors down here.  (Please excuse the incredibly crass pic with the potty seat up - in my defense, I didn't actually own the house when I snapped it and I certainly didn't want to go touching the potty until it had been fully sanitized.)

And here's the after!  It's a tiny little room that's crazy hard to photograph.  Not to mention, there's not a lick of natural light so it just doesn't come across as pretty in pictures as it is in person.  I know toile's heyday has kind of come and gone, but I personally still love it.  And my number one decorating rule?  Go with what you love!

Sources:
Wallpaper – Brewser Toile – I can’t find a link to it anywhere!  We put it up before we moved in so perhaps it has been discontinued.
Paint - Benjamin Moore Alabaster (trim)
Light – Ballard Designs Claire Three-Light Vanity in bronze
Soap dispenser – Target
Trash can - Target
Linen Towels - Cottage and Cabin Interiors
Hand towel – lucky vintage find
Canvas – Ballard Designs Great Blue Heron Giclee Print; not available on-line but saw multiple at Alpharetta outlet a few weeks back
Mirror – Bombay Company, purchased about 10 years ago and brought from the powder room in my previous home
Cloche – Created by me with nest, moss, glass egg and curly willow branches
Floor, sink and hardware – original

I’ve been back and forth on a rug and, quite frankly, couldn’t find one I loved.  Besides, you can only imagine the things that happen in this sweet little room with two little boys…

So, that wraps up the teeniest space in our house!

SO excited for the features on A Stroll Thru Life and French Country Cottage!!!

Fantastic! Does toile go out of style? Me thinks NOT!!! I love the blue stripe in the background too. The whole room is lovely and your print keeps the space from being dated. ~Perfect~

I love toile...and that pattern is one of my faves...looks beautiful in your space! I've been trying to track down (sadly, to no avail) some more of the Brewster Toile fabric for a couple of years now... :(

I love this powder room and the toile too! I appreciate that you use what you love and not blindly follow trends...that is what makes your house so lovely. (I have toile in my house also and it always is the first thing visitors fall in love with....).
